What is a Photofacial?
A Photofacial is a non-invasive skin treatment that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to treat various skin concerns like pigmentation, redness, sun damage, and fine lines. It’s also called an IPL facial or IPL skin rejuvenation.
Unlike laser, which uses a focused beam, IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target multiple skin issues simultaneously — giving you brighter, clearer, and younger-looking skin with minimal downtime.
How Does It Work?
- IPL emits controlled pulses of broad-spectrum light into the skin.
- The light targets melanin (pigmentation) and hemoglobin (blood vessels).
- This light energy is absorbed by the unwanted pigment or redness, which is then broken down and removed naturally by the body.
- IPL also stimulates collagen production, improving skin texture and tone.
