What is a Hair Transplant?
A hair transplant is a permanent solution to baldness or thinning hair, where healthy hair follicles are taken from the donor area (usually the back of the head) and transplanted into bald or thinning areas. The result is natural-looking, lifelong hair growth.
Types of Hair Transplant Techniques:
- FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
- Individual hair follicles are extracted and implanted one by one
- No stitches, no linear scar
- Faster healing and minimal discomfort
- FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation)
- A strip of scalp is removed from the donor area, and follicles are extracted from it
- Suitable for large bald areas
- Leaves a thin linear scar
- DHI (Direct Hair Implantation)(Advanced FUE)
- Hair follicles are implanted using a special pen-like tool
- No pre-made slits needed
- More precise and dense results
Benefits of Hair Transplant:
| Concern Treated | Result |
|---|---|
| Bald spots & receding hairline | Permanent natural-looking hair regrowth |
| Thinning crown area | Denser and youthful hair coverage |
| Low confidence from hair loss | Boosted self-esteem and appearance |
| Beard or eyebrow gaps | Can also restore facial hair if needed |
Ideal Candidates:
- Men or women with pattern baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia)
- People with stable donor area (good hair growth at the back/sides of head)
- Adults aged 21 and above in good general health
Treatment Details:
- Procedure Time: 4 to 8 hours (depends on grafts needed)
- Downtime: Mild swelling/redness for 3–5 days
- Hair Growth: Starts in 3 months, full result in 9–12 months
- Graft Count: Usually 1,000 to 4,000+ grafts, based on need
Post-Transplant Care:
- Sleep with head elevated for 2–3 nights
- Avoid touching, sweating, or scratching the scalp
- Use mild shampoo as advised after 5 days
- Avoid heavy exercise or sun for 10–14 days
- Hair fall after transplant (shock loss) is normal — new growth follows!
Side Effects (Rare & Temporary):
- Mild swelling or discomfort

- Very rare: Infection or unnatural hairline (if done improperly)
